The revolutionary period describes a time when discontent grew between the colonists and the Bristish government. Mercantilist policies and lack of representation drove colonists to resent Parliament and the crown. In 1776, the Declaration of Independence abolished British rule and created the United States of America. For this unit, students will use the Choices Program Materials: A More Perfect Union to investigate the development of our country.
