Students taking American Government will be expected to understand the complexities of political systems, learn about peoples of the nation and world, study geography, and apply economics. Students will also take the American Government HSA in May 2009.

Students taking World History will be expected to investigate, analyze, and interpret events from the Industrial Revolution to the present.

- Students have created their own government. They had to identify the extent of government's power, who controls the power, rights given to citizens, how order is maintained, if elections would be held, and if the laws were followed.

- Students have identified four major purposes of government and explained the benefits and drawbacks of types of governments such as an authoritarian system.
